WILL THE REAL PATRIOTS PLEASE STAND UP by Lonny Le Coulter

If you are unaware of what has been going on at Standing Rock in North Dakota and you live in the USA, I urge you to take a moment, and PLEASE READ this post. Due to the lack of coverage in mainstream media and the usual “dog and pony show”, you are not alone if you do not understand the gravity of the situation we are facing. Regardless of where you live, your financial status or who you work for – this concerns you and your family for generations to come. We have the ability to stop this catastrophe, but we can’t do it without you. This isn’t only about standing in solidarity with our Native brothers and sisters but with every American. The reason this isn’t on the news or mainstream media sources is because they don’t want you to know. There are several dynamics at play that must be understood in order to grasp the magnitude of what is really happening. I appreciate your patience while I break it down.

.
BACKGROUND:
Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. (ET) and their agents are attempting to force the completion of a 1,134 mile long underground pipeline which begins in North Dakota, travels through the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s traditional lands, just a mile away from their reservation and sacred water source of the Missouri River, through South Dakota, Iowa and into Illinois. That’s right folks, over one thousand miles of pipeline. Please note that they originally intended to take this pipeline through Bismarck, but it was rejected due to its close proximity to municipal waters sources and residential areas due to the high risks of contamination. Yet, somehow, they don’t see an issue building this pipeline through sacred land, without valid consultation with the tribe and in direction violation of land and peace treaties. Essentially, what this tells me is that they couldn’t put this pipeline too close to Bismarck for the safety of Bismarck residents who just happen to be predominantly white, upper middle-class folks. Yet, they are perfectly fine with going through Native land and forcing people from the areas they were forced to live in for the last 150 years while desecrating artifacts and burial grounds. Clearly, this is an issue of race and class.
.
Democracynow.org Quote “Only hours after lawyers representing the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe filed evidence in federal court documenting how some of the Dakota Access pipeline’s proposed route would go through a sacred burial site, the company unexpectedly began working on that very site. As bulldozers cleared earth, hundreds of Native Americans from many different tribes rushed onto the construction site to protect the sacred site. In response, the company’s security forces attacked the Native Americans with dogs and pepper spray. Now the tribe’s lawyer is requesting an emergency temporary restraining order to halt construction on this area of the pipeline.” September 6, 2016
Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. Violence, brute force and humiliation tactics are being used to create fear and loss of hope in order to force these stewards and protectors of the land out of their way. This is bullying at its finest. In fact, they are ordering evacuation of the camp, blocking any humanitarian aid and fining and/or arresting those that try to help.
.
“Never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.” ~ Martin Luther King
.
OIL AND WATER DON’T MIX:
Most of our public city water supplies are already contaminated, and we already have to purchase water or use a filter if we want to drink clean water. Warnings on the dangers of drinking tap water have been on a steady rise. In fact, most filters can’t even remove all the contaminants found in today’s tap water. This pipeline will leak or burst like all other pipelines and this would contaminate the drinking water for everyone in the affected areas. With a pipe that long, many areas are at risk. It’s not really a question of IF it will leak but WHEN. Just take a look at the track history. They just had a pipeline rupture in Pennsylvania last month due to flooding which leaked over 55,000 gallons of fuel into a creek. Alabama and Georgia are in a state of emergency as of September 15th due to a 336,000 gallon gas leak which affected 5 states. In fact, ETP has plans for Ohio as well. You can do a quick search on the internet and find plenty of articles about the hundreds of gallons of oil and gas that have been spilled into our fresh water supplies as well as explosions, massive fires, deaths and millions of dollars worth of damage just in the past few years!
.
Don’t think that because you don’t live in that area that this doesn’t affect you. It most certainly does, it probably already has and if we don’t put an end to it now – they’ll be coming soon to an area near you! ~ Lonny

THOSE AT STANDING ROCK ARE PROTECTORS NOT PROTESTERS

.

LEGALITY:
After the initial peace and land treaty was made, the American government has been taking away more and more of the Sioux Territory. There were peace and land treaties in 1851 and 1868. When the Europeans found gold in the Black Hills, they did yet another treaty in 1870. Then, there were three more territorial treaties in 1941, 1954 and 1960 for the Sioux tribe. Tribes have been relocated again and again. They were literally forced into poverty.
.
There has not been a new treaty or renegotiation which means that what is happening at Standing Rock is in direct violation of constitutional rights. We are allowed the right to peaceful assembly and free speech, and we as the people should have a definite vote as to what happens to and with the land we live and depend on. Politicians should get one vote like everyone else. The government is in place to serve the people not corporate interests which only serves the few. In the very least, we have the right to put a complete halt on this pipeline until we can hold a fully, nationally, televised fair trial, debate or discussion to inform the American people of all the pros and cons of this pipeline so that the American people can choose what we want for our country. Who cares about corporate deadlines when it’s a matter of such great importance? What investment they’ve lost doesn’t matter because we have much more to lose if they build this pipeline; and quite frankly, they should have had permission before they paid someone to do this work. Let the contractors and their oil partners negotiate on how to settle things out, or they can let a court decide. Contracts and corporate deadlines should carry no weight in matters such as this.
.
BankTrack.org Quote: “In early August, just as protesters from across the country descended on North Dakota to rally against an oil pipeline near the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, some of the world’s biggest banks signed off on a $2.5 billion loan to help complete the sprawling project. Now, those banks — which include Citigroup and Wells Fargo of the United States, TD Bank of Canada and Mizuho of Japan — have come under fire for their role in bankrolling the pipeline. In an open letter on Monday, 26 environmental groups urged those banks to halt further loan payments to the project, which the Sioux say threatens their sacred lands and water supply.”
.
North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple supposedly has zero authority over this matter; yet, he has demanded evacuation by December 5th or everyone remaining will be treated as trespassers. If the Governor has no authority, then where are these orders coming from exactly? Who are the real trespassers? Is the President okay with this?
.
NYMag.com Quote: “ On Monday, North Dakota governor Jack Dalrymple ordered the evacuation of everyone protesting the Dakota Access pipeline. Earlier, the Army Corps of Engineers had announced that they would clear the camp by December 5. Both the governor’s office and the Army have said that they would not forcibly remove protesters.”
.

We haven’t heard from President Obama since September 26th. The news media outlets aren’t covering it. No political action has taken place. Obviously, a “higher” agenda is being served.

.
abcnewsgo.com quote “ President Obama weighed in on the Native American movement to block a disputed oil pipeline today as he hosted more than 500 Native American leaders for his eighth and final White House Tribal Nations Conference as president.“I know many of you have come together, across tribes and across the country, to support the community at Standing Rock and together you’re making your voices heard,” the president said to applause.“And in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, we’ve made a lot of progress for Indian country over the past eight years, and this moment highlights why it’s so important that we re-double our efforts to make sure that every federal agency truly consults and listens, and works with you, sovereign-to-sovereign,” Obama continued.

Wikipedia Quote: “In an October 28 public statement, Chief Arvol Looking Horse, spiritual leader and Keeper of the Sacred Pipe Bundle of the Lakota/Dakota/Nakota Nations, invoked his role as the voice of traditional government of the Great Sioux Nation and called upon President Barack Obama to communicate “nation to nation, as indicated by our treaties.”
 .
“Looking Horse called upon President Obama to keep his word: “When you met with our people on your campaign trail in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, you stated that you are a lawyer and understand treaty documents. You told us that you realized our treaties were violated and you would address these violations against our people if you became President. This was your Word.”
 .
Wikipedia Quote: In September, Senator Bernie Sanders spoke to a crowd of about 3,000 members of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and other tribal nations and supporters at a protest held outside of the White House saying “the pipeline threatens the environment, water resources and exploits Native Americans”, he asked President Obama to take action and conduct a full environmental and cultural impact analysis of the project, which he believes would kill the pipeline. Following the use of the National Guard and armed militia in riot gear to remove protesters from a protest camp in October, Sanders again called on the president to suspend construction of the pipeline. In a letter to the President, Sanders said in part: “It is deeply distressing to me that the federal government is putting the profits of the oil industry ahead of the treaty and sovereign rights of Native American communities. Mr. President, you took a bold and principled stand against the Keystone pipeline – I ask you to take a similar stand against the Dakota Access Pipeline.”
.

TRUMPS TEAM SAYS HE SUPPORTS CONSTRUCTION OF DAKOTA ACCESS OIL PIPELINE – December 2, 2016

.
PBS.org Quote: WASHINGTON — “President-elect Donald Trump supports completion of the disputed Dakota Access oil pipeline in the Midwest, based on policy and not the billionaire businessman’s investments in a partnership building the $3.8 billion pipeline, according to an aide’s memo.Spokesman Bryan Lanza said in a memo this week to supporters that Trump’s backing for the pipeline near a North Dakota Indian reservation “has nothing to do with his personal investments and everything to do with promoting policies that benefit all Americans.”
.
LACK OF ENVIRONMENT IMPACT STUDIES:
On July 27th, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe sought declaratory and injunctive relief to stop the pipeline. U.S. District Judge James Boasberg denied the motion. After that, a joint statement was issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Army and Interior. The U.S. Government asked the company for a “voluntary pause” on construction until further studies could be completed. Here is portion of that request:
.
“Finally, we fully support the rights of all Americans to assemble and speak freely. In recent days, we have seen thousands of demonstrators come together peacefully, with support from scores of sovereign tribal governments, to exercise their First Amendment rights and to voice heartfelt concerns about the environment and historic, sacred sites. It is now incumbent on all of us to develop a path forward that serves the broadest public interest”.
.
Energy Transfer Partners rejected the request to voluntarily halt construction on all surrounding private land and resumed construction within 48 hours. So here we have an energy company who doesn’t have to listen to the government. Some of you already know that this is because our government is owned by corporations, and these corporations are owned by the banks.
.
Wikipedia: On November 14, the The Army Corps of Engineers said it needed more time to study the impact of the plan. In a news release they said: “The Army has determined that additional discussion and analysis are warranted in light of the history of the Great Sioux Nation’s dispossessions of lands, the importance of Lake Oahe to the Tribe, our government-to-government relationship, and the statute governing easements through government property.”Energy Transfer Partners responded criticizing the Obama administration for “political interference” and said that “further delay in the consideration of this case would add millions of dollars more each month in costs which cannot be recovered.” North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple criticized the decision saying the pipeline would be safe and that the decision was “long overdue”. Craig Stevens, spokesman for the MAIN Coalition, a labor group, called the Corps’ announcement “yet another attempt at death by delay” and said the Obama administration “has chosen to further fan the flames of protest by more inaction.” North Dakota Senator John Hoeven said in a statement that the delay “will only prolong the disruption in the region caused by protests and make life difficult for everyone who lives and works in the area.”
.
That’s a pretty odd response to the President of the United. The general vibe is quite clear. It sure sounds like ETP is trying to get Obama in trouble with “the big boys”. If Obama is “politically interfering”, one can only imagine how they feel about the people at Standing Rock or any of us for that matter.

Dallasnews.com quotes from August 3, 2016: And just like that, Dallas’ Energy Transfer and Sunoco are $2 billion richer…
.
“Energy Transfer Partners LP, the oil- and gas-pipeline megacompany led by Dallas billionaire Kelcy Warren, hasn’t made too many positive headlines lately. That changes with Wednesday’s announcement that Energy Transfer and one of its subsidiaries, Sunoco Logistics Partners, will collect $2 billion in cash for a minority stake in a Bakken pipeline project.”
.
“The buyers are Canada-based Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. and Oklahoma-based Marathon Petroleum Corp. The stake they’re buying represents 36.75 percent of the project.”
.
“Energy Transfer is set to release its second-quarter financial results after the market closes Wednesday. And unless it’s figured out a way to boost profits that others have not, the numbers may well be unpleasant. The investor call is set for Thursday morning. Energy Transfer and Sunoco plan to use the cash to pay down debt and fund other growth projects.“
.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating one fire on the pipeline project in Mahaska County and there were two more pipeline construction fires in Jasper County that may be related,” said Alex Murphy, a spokesman for the Iowa Department of Public Safety.”
.
Fool.com quotes from April 19, 2016: Shares of Energy Transfer Equity Climb 10% After Announcing Loophole to Get Out of Williams Deal. Another bump on the road to an acquisition has investors excited that Energy Transfer may not do the Williams deal after all.
.
“ What: In a desperate attempt to find any way to get out of its proposed acquisition of Williams Companies (NYSE:WMB), Energy Transfer Equity (NYSE:ETE) disclosed that it had not yet obtained a tax opinion on the proposed merger. The latter’s shares were up 10% as of 10:45 a.m. ET today. So what: As part of any deal, a company has an obligation to obtain certain tax opinions that could impact shareholders and inform them of the long-term effects of the deal. In this case, Energy Transfer Equity is saying that it has not yet received a tax opinion on a particular aspect of the deal that would free its shareholders of any tax liabilities associated with the deal. Of course, this is just another barrier that is getting in the way of both Williams and Energy Transfer tying the knot. This isn’t the first time that Energy Transfer has dragged its feet. In fact, the deal has become so sour that Williams filed a suit against Energy Transfer earlier this month.”
.
“ The reason that this particular news is sending shares higher is because many people on Wall Street think this isn’t a good deal for Energy Transfer to make under its current structure. So any chance it won’t happen is going to send shares higher. The two companies have said publicly that they are committed to getting it done, but the actions Energy Transfer has made in recent months seem to indicate otherwise.”
.
Now what: For the rest of us, all of this speculation about the deal is probably just good reason to stay away until the dust settles. Too many times, we have seen shares of companies pop and drop on deal speculation, only to have them fall through or not be as lucrative as originally thought. Until we have a more definite view of what Energy Transfer will look like — either with or without Williams — it’s best to sit on the sidelines.”

TRUE HISTORY:
Most Americans do not realize this land was the home of millions of indigenous people long before Christopher Columbus set sail – Black Paleoamericans, Native Americans and Costanoans to name a few. In fact, California was named after the beautiful Calafia, the black warrior Queen of the Moorish Kingdom. We’ve all been lied to about the true history of our Black human family just as we were told our Native brothers and sisters were savages and became an “endangered species” due to smallpox. Thomas Paine, America’s true “Founding Father” and a most honorable British man wrote the document entitled “Common Sense” which inspired the creation of the “Declaration of Independence”. He was a firm slave abolitionist and believed in equality for women, a true pioneer and man ahead of his time. Unfortunately, his vision was thwarted by an elitist ruling class of land-holding slave-owners who denied the equal rights of women, while legitimizing imperialism and the genocide of millions of indigenous people. The actions of the past cannot be changed, but if we stand by and do nothing – are we any better? If we as military, political and police officials are afraid to say, “No, I will not use force or violence on peaceful people.” – are we any different?
.
Turning a blind eye is acceptance spoken in silence. ~ Lonny
.
The truth is their lands were invaded, and they were forced into war. They were imprisoned, raped, tortured and slaughtered. Geronimo, one of the greatest Native warriors of the land didn’t have any issues with the new people nor did he become that great warrior he is so well known as until his wife and children were killed. Suffering begets more suffering, and the same thing could happen today if we don’t choose wisely. Most Americans don’t realize that the day we celebrate Thanksgiving is the anniversary of the genocide of the indigenous people. This isn’t to say that all Natives were nice and innocent, or that they didn’t counter-attack or that they didn’t initiate their own raids once the fighting began. What it means is a lot of things happened in the past that we don’t want to repeat. We are all entitled to the truth so that we can learn from it, and I pray that it inspires you to stand with your fellow Americans as we right the ways of the past. The only way to put an end to darkness is to shine a light there. Be the light.
“Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.” ~ George Santayana
.
HUMAN RIGHTS:
Excessive force and hostility is being used. In addition, they have blocked anyone from being allowed to bring food, heating, shelter or survival supplies to the camp. ACE Hardware is refusing to sell them propane. This has been there home for 150 years. The aggressive nature towards peaceful protectors and the intent to use force demonstrates the agenda quite clearly. Many Natives arrested were put into animal like cages with numbers written on their backs and arms with black marker. One woman and her daughter were forced to remove all their clothes in front of multiple male officers. Unlicensed officers, attack dogs, rubber bullets and freezing water cannons have all been used. Tear gas has been used on hundreds of people, some of them fifteen or more times in one night. One female journalist was shot on camera in the head by an air bullet while conducting an interview. Police threw a concussion grenade and hit a twenty-one year old woman who will likely lose her arm unless she is able to undergo the twenty surgeries needed to save it. One man was hit in the stomach with an air bullet and then when he showed his wound to the officer, the officer just smiled and shot him in both knee caps. Twenty-six people were hospitalized one evening after the weather was below freezing, and the protectors were sprayed with frigid water and rubber bullets. The list goes on. While this was going on, Standing Rock Protectors stood in solidarity and in peace, the air was filled with prayer and the aroma of burning sage, a sacred purifying Native herb. In spite of all the hostility, the water protectors are still holding ground.
.
Wikipedia Quote: “Actress Shailene Woodley, arrested on October 10 along with 27 others, also said she was strip-searched, adding, “Never did it cross my mind that while trying to protect clean water, trying to ensure a future where our children have access to an element essential for human survival, would I be strip-searched. I was just shocked.”
.
How ironic our Native brothers and sisters were protecting Standing Rock while we celebrated Thanksgiving. Certainly you’ve noticed that cities, states, rivers and lakes are oftentimes named after the tribes that lived there. I choose to think of it as honoring them, but what is the intention behind forcing Natives from their homeland and/or killing them, and then naming it after them? Now, here they are trying to force people out of Standing Rock at the same time violating all contracts that have been made, and calling it “The Dakota Pipeline”. Just like having Americans celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a joyous occasion on the very day that is the aniversary of the genocide of the Indigenous people. It’s a form of mockery, and it’s all over the place hidden from the perception of most Americans. This is about a lot more than just money, it’s about the life force and energy of the human biological vehicle. This same kind of sneaky tactic has been used on our black brothers and sisters. This is why it is so hard for non-blacks to understand racism and prejudice from a black person’s experience and perspective. There are many things you truly cannot understand without having the direct experience. We need to try anyway. All white people aren’t from just one country either, and most are not racist. There are agendas to divide and distract the people so that we don’t stand together in times like these. Wheat and tares have no prejudice and are found among all human races. We need to seek understanding and acceptance with each other, rather than indifference and self-victimization. It’s time to heal the wounds of the past and stand together as one. For at the end of the day, what we do to each other we do to ourselves.

YOU CAN’T DRINK OIL:
You already know that your body is made up of mostly water and that we cannot survive for very long without it. I think it goes without saying that this is not the time to leave the well-being of our our water supply, our lives, mother Earth, all its inhabitants and our children’s children in the hands of corporate interests, power and greed.
STOPPING THIS PIPELINE IS JUST THE BEGINNING
We have long known that we needed to pursue other energy options, and the only reason that hasn’t happened is because corporate interests are in bed with political agendas. A multitude of clean energy technologies have already been created and are available, but they don’t tend to make the mainstream news. There are many new conscious media sources out there so you can easily go find them, subscribe, support, network, collaborate as you are able and stay in the loop.
.
DEAR POLICE OFFICERS, MILITARY AND VETERANS:
I honor you with all my heart for your bravery, your courage and your sacrifice. So many of you have suffered the loss of comrades. So many of you have suffered the loss of limbs. So many of you experience physical pain from injuries as a part of your daily life. So many of you are plagued by memories of war and/or violence playing over and over again in your head. So many of you have lost love and friendships due to your commitments to travel far and wide to protect our freedoms. So many of you work the rough neighborhoods and spend many of your work hours under great duress and risk. Perhaps, some of you have been forced to do things in the name of duty or witnessed things that went against your better judgment. I have met many homeless veterans who haven’t been properly cared for by our government after serving this country. I have seen countless veterans who need medical care but aren’t receiving it. My father served in Thailand, Korea and Vietnam, my older brother enlisted four years in the Army. I have the honor of knowing many other respectable service men and women. I would like to take this opportunity to talk about what the military and police force was designed for and the reason men and women enlist. Was it designed to fuel a war machine and enforce imperialistic ideas? Who is the real criminal here? Whose freedoms are at stake? Who is in violation of peace agreements? I believe the police force and military have some of the bravest and most courageous people on the planet. I’ve been fortunate to meet and train with many of them. They took up these roles because of how big their hearts are, because they are brave, because they care, because they are willing to put their life on the line to protect our human rights. Please know that is EXACTLY what the people protecting Standing Rock are also doing but without arms or any form of violence. I pray you stand with us and not against us. I pray you protect the people and the land not the corporate interests of a ruling class.

PROPHECY:
Interestingly, various Native tribes as well as many other cultures and religions have many prophecies which directly correlate to the times we are living in. It’s all unfolding right before our very eyes. We are the co-creators of our destiny, and if we do not reclaim our sovereignty now then we will only have ourselves to blame. A new direction can be chosen at any time, and that time is now. #blacksnakeprophecy
.
Historians have well-documented numbers of civilizations that have come and perished on this planet long before our present day civilization of supposedly 2016 years young. The United States itself is not even 300 years old, yet somehow in that period of time we have managed to become completely dependent upon the governmental system to make all the decisions that we should have be making for ourselves. It’s time to take responsibility for over-delegating and reclaim our voice. We need to do everything we can to stop the “Black Snake”. Solidarity is an extremely powerful thing. We can turn this country around, but it’s going to take all of us. There are many agendas out there setup to divide us, to distract us, and many come in the disguise of good intentions. Don’t let a bad apple cause you to hate apples. Don’t get caught up in the judgment and hate. If one is ignorant, feel compassion for them as you would your own child. We are one human family. Together we rise. Divided we fall..

Although things may appear to be “out of order”, it is in times like these that we are woken from our sleep and shaken into action. All of the values upon which this great Nation was founded are being violated at Standing Rock as we speak. You see, back in the day before social media and the internet, the “powers that be” just did whatever they wanted and told the public whatever version of this story they felt would put them in the best light. Because we live in the age of information, we now have the opportunity to observe what is really going on and make great change! This is an opportunity to shed light on how corporate interests have deluded our real priorities and the chance to really turn things around. We need you! If there was ever a time for all the people to come together as one voice – this is it. We must support and stand beside our Native brothers and sisters, for this form of oppression and violation of human rights and the raping and pillaging of the earth sets the bar for what we stand for not just as American citizens but as human beings. There is great power and potent energies for change when we stand together in solidarity.
.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
I was once offered attractive commissions to help a startup company land oil investors by making introductions to some of my well-to-do friends. I turned down the offer, kindly explained my reasons and offered this person an opportunity to get involved in some major clean energy projects. Needless to say, this individual was not interested. My point in sharing this story is that so many of us have been indoctrinated into the “short-term gain, long-term pain” mentality. We will have to undergo short-term pain for the preferred long-term gain in the energy industry. Destroying the earth equals destroying ourselves so if we plan on sticking around much longer, oil has to go. If we care about the generations of tomorrow, we must take action. We built this country to what it is today in less than 300 years, and with our innovations in technology – we can create change very fast. The sooner everyone gets on board with this, the more seamless and painless it will be. We need to use technology to our advantage and stop these outdated processes. If you have the resources, you can get on that bandwagon and be a force for change. It’s going to happen, so why not make the transition now? If you are living large making profits in an industry that is no longer a good fit for our future, you still have time to pull the plug and put your funds into something that has a brighter future. Instead of taking a bigger hit when things come crumbling down or feeling like you’re in the hot seat, you can get excited about your new venture and feel good about it in more ways than one. I’m sure you’ll score some good karma points as well. All I know is that anyone who is sincerely trying to get on the right track has my support. Yesterday doesn’t matter. Who are you now? There are many inventors, pioneers, change makers and leaders who would love to collaborate with you. Be the first, not the last. Show the world that you are ready to lead the way out of the darkness of power and greed and know that you will be supported every step of the way.
