WHY THE NEW TESTAMENT IS A CATHOLIC BIBLE written by Ayala Nunez

Before 325 AD, at the First Council of Nicaea, the different books between what we today consider the KJV and among the others considered to be the Apocrypha were included and excluded from the canon of different cultural groups and sects, as ordained within the pillars of their belief systems. For example, the Ebionites excluded the 13-14 epistles of Paul (because they considered Paul an Apostate), but included within their Hebrew Gospel all other books, including most importantly the Book of Matthew. From its inception, Christianity has been divided by different practices and different interpretations of religious texts. In the early centuries, their were many Christian groups floating around and individualized councils were held to define unified beliefs. Sects, as previously mentioned similar to the Natsarim, followers of the True Messiah and the keepers of Mosaic Law who failed to accept the agreed upon doctrines between Rabbinic Judaism and mainstream pagan Christianity were often kicked out of the loop. Many smaller earlier sects were regarded as heretical. These included the Montanists (a 2nd century movement founded by self-proclaimed prophet, Montanus, who said he received messages directly from God and these were more important than the teachings of Jesus); the Arianists (a 4th century movement that called Christ a semi-divine being); and the Monarchianists (a movement with strong beliefs about monotheism). There were also other groups like the Sethians and Valentinians which carried waved the same banner of heretical views. Other groups, to the contrary, included certain epistles such as the writings of Paul and excluded others, and so forth. So, indeed, there was quite a mixed blend deriving itself from a hodge-podge of variable religious groups which arose in competition with one another during the earlier portion of the First Century. So, before 325 AD, depending upon what sect or cultural group, their collection of writings which made up their specified line-up of books for their particular gospels were fairly and for the most part “Epistles on Demand”. But, the time period when a collection of these New Testament books were made official in actuality as canon, by a larger and more influential institution created, was when an assembly was gathered at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD (by the Roman Catholic Church) where it’s appointed officials “canonized” together the approved epistles of what we now know today as “The New Testament”. But, the selection of these epistles to be included as canonical was not a legitimate and defining process. There were loopholes and exceptions of which were made, in order to fulfill a certain theme set. And, of course, there were politics involved and a significant amount of “Red Tape” was placed into the mix which contributed greatly to this so-called canonization process. And the very people who made the political decision-making for these approved canonized epistles for inclusion into this New Testament Bible were actually the Forefathers (the Progenitors) of the creation of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).

Just always remember, in the First Century after 33-36 AD (the Stoning of Steven) following the creation of the First Christian Gentile Church at Antioch (from amidst the other four founding Patriarchates in Rome, Alexandria, Constantinople and Alexandria), what was existing side-by-side rooting from the development of the proverbial “Early Church” were the Catholics in the West and the Greek Orthodoxy in the East, within this region of the world of the Mediterranean. Though the Eastern Orthodoxy existed before the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) in 33 AD at Pentecost, the RCC was first created in 313 AD, almost 300 years later at the Edict of Milan, just a decade or so right before The New Testament (NT) was finalized with its officially canonized 27 books, by the hands of Catholic officials, under the guise and recommendations of the Roman Empire (The First Ecumenical Council of the Catholic Church). Thus, the NT is a Roman Catholic Bible, indeed.

And as a side-note, where the Catholic Church branched away from the Eastern Orthodoxy was at 1054 AD, considered widely-known as “The Great Schism”. This split occurred because of great doctrinal differences made noticeably apparent between East and West traditions. On July 16, 1054, Patriarch of Constantinople Michael Cerularius was excommunicated, starting the “Great Schism” that created the two largest denominations in Christianity—the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox faiths. Cerularius’s excommunication was a breaking point in long-rising tensions between the Roman church based in Rome and the Byzantine church based in Constantinople (now called Istanbul). But people persistently forget about the etymology of “Gentile Nation” names of which are frequently found in front of root founding father institutions to the Early Christian Church. This, in and of itself, should always be clear indicators to who and what masters organizations give their loyalties to. Let me explain. In front of the Eastern Orthodox Church’s name is “Greek” (The Greek Orthodox Church)… and in front of the more Latin version of the Catholic Church’s denomination is “Roman” (The Roman Catholic Church). As far as how it all pertains and gravitates to Biblical prophecy, well, all we have to do is just read the Book of Daniel 2:31-35. The Greeks who Hellenized much of the doctrine within the church today was also helped-out by the Romans who collaboratively orchestrated the very vernacular and theme for the origins of the “church” and the Christian Bible, again for reiteration, which is essentially a Catholic Bible that we… now… know… today:

In Biblical Prophecy, similar to the very feet and legs of the statue within Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the IRON legs (Representative of the Roman Empire) and the CLAY feet (Representative of the Church) is the very foundation of the four pagan gentile nations (Daniel 2:31-35) of whom would deceive the world through this false spirit of the Fallen: “Your Majesty looked, and there before you stood a large statue—an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. The head of the statue was made of pure gold (Babylon), its chest and arms of silver (Persia), its belly and thighs of bronze (Greece), its legs of IRON, its feet partly of IRON (Rome) and partly of baked CLAY (Church). While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. In essence, the origins to the creation of “The New Testament” (NT) is the very foundation for both Catholics and Protestants. What many also do not realize is that the Protestants broke off from the RCC in the early 1500’s. The Protestant Reformation began in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517, when Martin Luther, a teacher and a monk, published a document he called “Disputation on the Power of Indulgences” or “The 95 Theses”. The Protestant Reformation was a religious reform movement that swept through Europe in the 1500s. It resulted in the creation of a branch of Christianity called Protestantism, a name used collectively to refer to the many religious groups that separated from the Roman Catholic Church due to differences in doctrine. Although, The Roman Catholic Bible has 73 books, the Protestant Bible contains 66. The New Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition (NRSV-CE) is a Bible translation approved for use by the Catholic Church, receiving the imprimatur of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1991. The New Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition is a translation of the Bible closely based on the New Revised Standard Version but including the deuterocanonical books and adapted for the use of Catholics with the approval of the Catholic Church. It contains all the canonical books of Scripture accepted by the Catholic Church arranged in the traditional Catholic order. Regardless, both groups claim that the Roman influenced NT functions as their authority for doctrine, though admittedly in different ways. That is, Protestants and Catholics claim the NT is their canon and the authority for the basis of their underlying faith and morals. Incidentally, Protestants and Catholics use the same New Testament as the very core for their doctrine, the very same content defined as official by Athanasius in 367 AD. Athanasius was a 4th Century bishop of Alexandria, whose writings found within his most well-renown Thirty-Ninth Festal Letter, is regarded as the first authoritative statement on the canon of the New Testament. “The Thirty-Ninth” has been reconstructed by scholars from Greek, Syriac, and Coptic fragments. It contains a list of the books of the Old and New Testaments, which Athanasius describes as being canonical. Thus, it is very important that we as a people must learn the “Timeline” when it comes to the origins of the “Church”. The path to such an understanding will undoubtedly lead you in a direction for which you will have never known to be possible, nor expected. This is ultimately the main reason why proponents of the Church will often dissuade questions of curiosity with such offense. And surprisingly enough, you will find that even leaders of the church today will either provide you with their own doctored-up version in their explanation to defining the connection to the roots to the vine, whilst others will be offended as to why they are being challenged at all. As leaders to any institution, they (Pastors) must be well-equipped to respond to any challenge which tests the limits to their faith. Once more, as true followers of the Most High, obedient to His Law, we must test the spirits to any regard. But before we test any spirit, we must first educate ourselves – WE MUST KNOW THE TIMELINE OF ORIGINS:

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” ~1 John 4:1-6
